People joke about COVID 15, meaning they have gained 15 pounds while staying at home during COVID. Oh my, how to get those pounds to go away. If there is one way to lose weight, it is to limit the amount of time you allow yourself to eat during the day. Eat only in a 6-8 hour window. It is talked about a great deal these days. Some days I can do it and some days I can’t. The more days we do it, the better.
Another option, which is similar, is to eat nothing after 6 o’clock. Oh but I like to munch while watching television or a movie. Yes, I know. But honestly, this isn’t just for your weight, but your health. Eating and then going to bed just doesn’t work well. After eating, you should have at least 3 hours before you go to bed. You digestive system should not be working when we are sleeping.
When I practiced in Houston, I had a patient who was a bicyclist. He rode his bike at least 50 miles a day. He won a race from Houston to Austin and back while I was treating him. I asked him how he got started bicycling and he said he was overweight and decided to get in shape. He quit eating after 3 pm. And he lost the weight.
If you try any of these methods and are successful, please let me know. Good luck!
